I’ve always wanted to make bread, but was intimidated because I thought it was WAY more complicated than it actually is! Tonight, I doubled the recipe below and separated into three parts so I could deliver some bread to my family that lives down the block. However, I’ve made the recipe below as one big loaf and it was incredible. Perfect with some Kerry Gold Butter or some seasoned dipping oil 🧈🥖
Ingredients:
•2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
•1 teaspoon granulated sugar
•1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
•2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
•2 tablespoons olive oil
•1 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
•In stand mixer, combine yeast, sugar & warm water. Let stand 5-10 minutes or until yeast is foamy.
•Add 2 cups flour, olive oil & salt. Stir with a dough hook on low speed until a sticky dough forms. Place onto a lightly floured surface and knead by hand 5 minutes. Adding flour until soft.
•Shape dough into a ball; place in an oiled bowl & turn in the bowl to coat. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and let dough rise 1 hour.
•Heat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
•On a lightly floured surface, punch down dough, then shape & transfer to prepared baking sheet. Cover with a towel and let rise 20-30 minutes.
•Bake 20-25 minutes. Cool before slicing.
