This is one of my most favorite and simple Christmas candy recipes: Christmas Crack 🍫 🎄
𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:
• Saltine crackers
• 1 cup butter
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
• Pre-heat oven to 330 degrees
• Line a baking sheet with non-stick aluminum foil. Place saltine crackers in a single layer on the pan - salt side down.
• Make the caramel sauce by placing the brown sugar and butter in a medium pot. Cook on medium heat until the butter melts.
• Stir often and continue to cook until the mixture comes to a boil, turns brown in color and turns into a smooth sauce. Remove from heat and mix in the vanilla extract.
• Pour the hot brown sugar mix over the crackers and spread to cover all crackers.
• Sprinkle chocolate chips over the brown sugar mixture and place in the oven for 3-5 minutes or until the chocolate is melted.
• Remove from the oven, spread the melted chocolate so it covered the whole pan. Place in the freezer for 30 minutes.
• Remove from the freezer, break up the candy and enjoy!
