Banana Bread Coffee Cake


Two things that I love very much: Coffee Cake & Banana Bread. So why not mix them together to make Coffee Cake Banana Bread? I see no reason not to. This classic banana bread recipe is topped with a simple crumb topping and is super easy to make!


Banana Bread Ingredients:

  • 3-4 medium or large bananas

  • 2 Tbsp dark brown sugar

  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 3/4 tsp pumpkin spice

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 2 Tbsp sour cream

Crumb Topping Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1 cup dark brown sugar

  • 6 Tbsp butter, cold

Bread Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 350. Grease a 4.5-Inch x 8.5-Inch loaf pan

  • In a bowl, mash bananas, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.

  • In a separate bowl, mix in butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Then, add in eggs and beat until mixed.

  • Add flour, baking soda, and salt to the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined then add the sour cream and mix again.

  • Pour in mashed bananas mixture and mix until combined. Pour mixture into the loaf pan.

Crumb Topping Instructions:

  • Combine cinnamon, flour, and brown sugar. Cut in butter with a pastry cutter, and mix until the topping looks like crumbs. Sprinkle coating evenly over the batter in the pan.

  • Bake for about 35-40 minutes. Allow to cool for 10 minutes. Slice and enjoy!
